I am afraid that I am completely lost. Before it was notifications about work items but now it is notifications about new personal messages sent in SO01?
Perhaps if you give some real life example about what happens in the system, and who does and what, this would be easier to understand. But eventually this will not answer your original question. I have no idea how to send extended notifications to business workplace. I guess IF(???) it is something that can be done, it is something that can most likely be done with the extended notification custom handlers (in SWNCONFIG). Perhaps it would be just easier to build your own report, or just add some notification sending step into the workflows in question.
In general the whole idea sounds really amazing, and who doesn't have an email in year 2014?
